Slow Food Austin & Slow Money present:
A Slow Supper at Green Gate Farms
Is there anything more gratifying than spending a spring evening eating with friends on a local farm? Join old and new friends at a potluck dinner on the farm with live music, beverages, and a to…ur of the farm.
Bring a “slow” dish of your choice to share. We also suggest bringing your own dinnerware, camp chair or blanket, and extra money if you would like to buy goodies from the farm while you are there. At this event, you can learn more about all organizations involved and we will feature education about local CSA’s including a list of CSA’s that are still accepting new members.
Learn more about what might make a dish “slow”.

Food Revolution Day is a chance for people who love food to come together to share information, talents and resources; to pass on their knowledge and highlight the world’s food issues. All around the globe, people will work together to make a difference. This “revolution” is about connecting with your community by sharing the pleasure of eating.
The ideals of Food Revolution Day are aligned with Slow Food Austin and so we are hosting an event on May 19, 2012 to inspire us all to think about where our food comes from and promote food education for everyone. Whether you are a skilled locavore or you are new to the movement, you are welcome at our table.
Join the Revolution! If you’d like to attend this event please RSVP to president@slowfoodaustin.org . We will send more details about the event (location and format) one week before (only to those who have RSVPd). We encourage you to bring a friend who is not familiar with Slow Food so RSVP for the total # of guests.

Say goodbye to spring with the final Slow Food farm tour before the summer heat! Meet Sebastian and Esther Bonneu of
Countryside Farms in Cedar Creek, just 30 miles outside Austin and specializing in chickens, ducks, rabbits, geese, pheasant, hogs, and turkey. Countryside will be featured on a summer episode of “Bizarre Foods” with Andrew Zimmern. Now is your chance to get a sneak peak of their thoughtful animal husbandry.
The tour will include a roasted pig lunch on the farm, prepared by our hosts.
*Please note: to learn about how animals enter our foodsystem, there will be a chicken slaughter and processing– guests will have the option to not view this portion.*
All funds from ticket sales go back to the farmers. Come out and meet the folks who are helping to bring you food that is good, clean, and fair!
