Slow Food Austin reconnects people with the food they eat. Our educational initiatives, social activities, fundraising events, and community volunteer projects inspire respect for where food comes from and awaken true pleasure in eating.

For this sweet August Slow Session, Tessa Halstead of Chocolaterie Tessa, will lead a tour of her facilities and chocolate ganache demo, followed by a chocolate tasting and discussion. Tessa, who works with bean-to-bar companies like SRSLY Chocolate, will also explain the pros and cons working with industrial versus craft chocolate, as well as the differences and similarities between chocolate makers and chocolatiers. Come learn about all the labor involved (3 days worth!) in making just one piece of chocolate.

Only 25 free tickets are available for this, so please only reserve one if you are positive you can make it. Once the list fills up, join the waitlist by sending your name, number and email to veronica@slowfoodaustin.org
