slow session: barton springs mill, 7/23/2017

Date: Sunday July 23rd, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Location: Barton Springs Mill, 252 Frog Pond Ln, Dripping Springs, TX 78620
RSVP: claim a FREE ticket to reserve your spot

This month’s Slow Food Session will be held at Barton Springs Mill, where proprietor James Brown will speak about his work with local grains, explain the process of harvesting, and give us a milling demo (in his very air-conditioned facilities!) Then we will get to sample various items from the test kitchen, all made using different grains.

Andrew Braunberg of Still Austin will also be there to speak about our city’s first grain-to-glass distillery and how they’re working with BSM to re-introduce heritage winter wheats that grew in Texas early in the last century and would have flavored pre-prohibition Texas whiskeys.

It should be a very educational (and delicious!) event.. looking forward to seeing you all there!
