Slow Food Austin reconnects people with the food they eat. Our educational initiatives, social activities, fundraising events, and community volunteer projects inspire respect for where food comes from and awaken true pleasure in eating.

slow sessions

The Slow Sessions are a unique event started by Slow Food Austin. They happen on the 1st Thursday of the month (unless there is a holiday or major event conflict, in which case it is moved 1 week). The vision for these sessions is to provide a forum to discuss topics related to Slow Food in Austin. It is meant to be social and educational. We gather at a local community meeting room, restaurant, farm or other topic-specific location to dialogue and spend time together.

Some past topics have included recipe swaps, cookbook author presentations, dietary and lifestyle gurus, local food policy town hall meetings, magazine publisher speakings, movie nights, potlucks, farm tours and more.

Please contact Anne Hargrove, Slow Session coordinator, with any ideas you might have for future Slow Food Sessions.
