Please join Slow Food Austin for our monthly Third Thursday Happy Hour at Urban Roots Farm.  There will be a suggested $15 donation upon entry.  Jesse Bloom and the Ecstatic Cuisine team will be serving up seasonal goodies while Michael Menley of A Torrid Affair will be mixing up a variety of Dripping Springs Vodka hand crafted cocktails. Lost and Nameless Orchestra will be there to provide music. UPDATE: All proceeds from tonight’s Happy Hour will go directly to farmers who have suffered losses related to the recent central Texas fires. We will also be accepting direct donations for farmers.  We are specifically trying to raise money to transport donated organic hay from Iowa so that farmers can put their animals back on the burned farm land.

You are cordially invited to join Slow Food Austin for our monthly Third Thursday Happy Hour at Springdale Farm. Owners Glenn and Paula Foore will show us around their beautiful urban farm that is sure to be looking gorgeous. Guests will be able to sip on spririted creations from Garrett Mikell of Peche, courtesy of local distiller, Treaty Oak and wines from one of our generous local distributors. Tantalizing treats fresh from Springdale Farm will be served up al fresco by Brandy Gibbs owner of Fine Home Dining. We hope to have music and will share more details when that is arranged.

We ask for a $15.00 per person donation which will cover beverages, food and music. Music will be provided by the Skillet Heads.

If you haven’t made it to one of our farm happy hours, you are definitely missing out!  Be sure to come out this coming Thursday, April 21st 6pm-sunset to Tecolote Farm on Decker Lane.  We will enjoy wine from Ambiente and beer from one of our local breweries.  Appetizers sourced directly from Tecolote Farm will will be served al fresco!

We request a $10 CASH donation to cover the cost of food and drinks.  Proceeds from the Happy Hour will go to Slow Food Austin to support our local programs.

DIRECTIONS TO TECOLOTE FARM:Location Details and Parking

To get to Tecolote Organic Farm from central Austin: Take MLK east out of town. MLK becomes FM 969 at 183. Go east on MLK/969 about 8 miles past 183. You’ll cross Decker Lane  (the road to the rodeo), FM 973, and the new toll road. When you are entering a wide, right-hand curve and leaving the developed area take the first left after the Exxon gas station, it’s Taylor Lane. Immediately turn left again on Decker Lake Road and go half a mile. We’re the first mailbox/driveway on the left: 16301. Come s l o w l y up the driveway (no dust clouds, please), then park in the grass across the driveway from our house, just off the drive, next to the farm crew’s cars. Sundays are harvest days for our Monday CSA deliveries, so the farm will be in action. Please make sure cars are not blocking any thoroughfares.
